This is a concert of early music from the British Isles. It includes music from the court of Henry VIII, virtuosic divisions on The English Nightingale and Daphne by Van Eyck, consort music of Holborne and Brade, three Old Scots Airs from Geminiani’s Treatise of Good Taste in Musicke and an arrangement of Barbara Allen’s Cruelty for countertenor, viols and lute.
